Welcome to our first blog!

Hi everyone! I just signed up for this and thought it would be a lot of fun to keep in contact with everyone and be able to update this site with pictures of our family on a regular basis. Right now I am posting pictures of our Christmas this year and pictures of our family.

As you know we had a little baby girl, McKenzie Helena, on November 19th, 2007 at 5:55 AM. This is her at 14 days old. She is very cute and adorable and we love her very much! She was 18" long and weighed 5 pounds 13 ounces at birth. The day she came home from the hospital she weighed 5 pounds 5 ounces. She was born by c-section. She was quite the mover and shaker while I was pregnant and she had managed to tie her cord in a knot. This made it impossible for her to be born any other way.

Here is the proud daddy on Christmas morning cuddling with his new daughter. If you think he looks tired you are right. With her waking up a lot during the night there was not a lot of sleep at this point. Bill would not wake up to her crying, but he would wake up when I was awake nursing her and I would constantly tell him to roll over to try and curb his snoring. :)

Here is big sister Taylor the day she found out she was going to be a big sister. She is holding a ribbon that says New Big Sister. She was very excitied and has been a HUGE help with McKenzie. Taylor loves to hold McKenzie when she is crying to try and calm her down. Taylor will sing to her...make funny faces at her....rock her....pretty much just be a wonderful big sister!! We are very lucky to have her here to help us out.

At Christmas this year we decided to have family pictures taken. It was a lot of fun to get the girls dressed up. I absolutely LOVE this picture of Taylor and McKenzie kissing. I have it as the picture on my computer for the desktop picture. I just think it is a very sweet and caring picture. It really does show how much Taylor loves her little sister. McKenzie was only 20 days old in this picture.

And here is our family. As you can tell I am not one for being in many of these pictures, but I have to admit that this one did turn out really nice. We are all actually looking at the camera and have some what of smiles on our faces. Even McKenzie looks content. I have to tell you that for these pictures she cried and cried for most of them. The ones you are seeing of her where where she was not crying.

McKenzie really loved having Great Aunt Youla here! Youla would hold her and sing to her and McKenzie really loved it. I am not sure who was going to be more sad when Youla had to leave....Youla or McKenzie. I would take McKenzie over to see Aunt Youla so that McKenzie could "Play with her" as Youla would say. It was very nice to get to watch them together since it might be a long time til McKenzie gets to see her again being as she lives in Greece. Looks like we will just to be take a trip there. :)

Well this is a good place to end this blog for now. I will do my very best to keep up on it though and write new ones and add new pictures for everyone to see. I know it is hard when we have so many family and friends living in so many different places. This will be a GREAT way to keep everyone up to date. And please....if it has been a while and you have not seen anything from me on here let me know and I will get more on here for everyone.

Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Love,

Bill, Kelli, Taylor and McKenzie :)
